| Steve Y sheltering from the wind! |
Today's weather forecast was sunny but with a very cold north wind - and they were right! As we were driving to the start, we could see snow on the mountains of Snowdonia.
 |
| Wrapping up against the cold! |
What a stunning walk though - along some spectacular coast line. We made our way slowly upwards towards South Stack; about 41/2 miles.

At south stack we spent quite a lot of time at the bird sanctuary, there was the Elin's tower which had a couple of CCTV cameras on nests and plenty of binoculars to look at the cliffs. We also then walked down a LOT of steps to the lighthouse to see if we could see any puffins, but unfortunately there were none, but lots of Guillemots and razorbills.

| Guillemots and razor bills on the cliff. |
After South stack, it was quite a scramble over rocks, steps and hills towards North Stack and the highest point in our walk of 185 meters. Continuing with the adventures of Steve and Stuey - they decided to walk up to the highest point on the Island,
Holyhead mountain which is 222 meters.

We had lunch while watching Steve and Stuey climb up the mountain and back!

At north stack we managed to see a few seals playing in the sea, then it was a steady trek over steps and stones; up and down; towards the country park near Holyhead. Once at the edge of Holyhead we walked to the town and tried to find Laa Laa - where was she! We found the church which was the official start and finish of the walk, but no sight of Phil and Carol. However eventually we did locate them in another car park, not too far away. Phil and Carol had done part of the walk we did yesterday to the rock arches.
....And Laa Laa in a tight spot ! getting to the car park by the beach where Phil and Carol started their walk.
Until tomorrows's adventures - Alison x
