Cemaes to somewhere??
We'll start with a picture from yesterday - all enjoying a drink at the Ship Inn at Red Wharf Bay.
Great excitement a couple of times today as we managed
to see dolphins or porpoises (not sure of the difference) ; unfortunately we couldn't get a decent photo, but it was good to see them diving around. - trouble is when you have your eyes searching the sea you don't look where you're going!!!! Didn't fall over though.
Our lunch stop was at Amlwch port, which was originally going to be the end of today's walk. But as it was only just over 8 miles and tomorrow is forecast to be horrid weather, we decided to walk a bit further. So Tim worked out that we could do another 5 miles and be collected somewhere on a very thin road! - And so we were. Then, we also decided to walk the last 1.5 miles from Benllech beach to Red Wharf Bay as this would have to be tagged onto the end of tomorrow's walk (which was originally 15 miles) . I believe we should have started the walk at Benllech beach not Red Wharf beach. Anyway, we left our rucksacks on Laa Laa and headed off on the last stretch, leaving about 10 miles to do tomorrow in the pouring rain to complete our circuit of Anglesey!
Therefore today's walk turned into a very long one of about 15.5 miles in total!
So a nice cup of tea and cake were very welcome, and Walt is busy making chilli.
Well - actually stood outside it!
Today we started walking from Cemaes fishing village eastwards towards Amlwch. Another great day for weather, not too hot or cold today. We have been so blessed with the weather, hardly any rain - but tomorrow looks different. :(
The first part of the walk again was extremely hilly, no sooner had you walked up a massive steep hill than you had to go back down the other side! This went on for about 3 miles. Also at the beginning we scrambled over the rocks on the beach. We were joined today by Joanne, Alan's niece, and Ali who helps Stuey in his French ski chalet, and is staying in Snowdonia for a week.
At last though, the hills became less hilly and coffee was called for overlooking an old copper mine. I think the only way you could reach this mine other than on foot was by boat as there was no access road. We met Phil and Carol just after coffee on their walk round Bull Bay.
Great excitement a couple of times today as we managed

We've seen lots of Oyster Catchers on Anglesey.
A quiz for you - who's nest is this? it was perched very precariously on the side of a cliff.
Until tomorrow
